Job Description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing tire testing for the purpose of compliance. Will also be responsible to be proficient in the execution of fundamental test methods and procedures and to produce quality and timely data.
Essential Duties & Function
- Performs testing programs and provides data of test results
- Assists testing team in preparing and conducting performance tests, including coordinating and performing objective tests, and processing data and generating reports
- Adds test results and maintains online database of field testing data and updates management on a regular basis
- Understanding of all department safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, MSDS system, and emergency action plans
- Ability to learn and execute fundamental test methods and procedures
- Initiates and executes testing, evaluates and reports results
- Reviews work instructions, information systems, or other department procedures for improvements
- Advises of problems or deviations from accepted procedures and reports to Supervisor
- Follow company policies as required
- Perform other duties of equal or less complexity as assigned or directed by management
- Engage and retain high-performance standards and elevate level of responsibility and performance
Skills/Qualifications
- Good analytical skills, common sense, and good reasoning skills preferred
- Prefer tire manufacturing technique and procedures for analytical purposes knowledge
- Must be proficient in MS Office programs and technical report writing formats
- Basic computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Must be able to communicate effectively with diplomacy and tact
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not expected to have supervisory responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent or AAS or two year vocational degree or certificate in Automotive and/or Tire Technician Training is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years tire industry technical experience, automotive maintenance, alignment, or service requirements preferred
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Troubleshooting: individual shall be skilled in systematic approach to problem identification and resolution

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment may be noisy.
