Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

Join Iridium's IoT Team as a Product/Market Development Manager and immerse yourself in a role that thrives on innovation! Your mission? Shape the future by developing fresh markets and influencing product design, all while delving into dynamic industry research. As a key player, you'll play a key role in the expansion of Iridium IoT into new territories and help craft channel strategies that ignite sales and demand. Dive into the technical realm, leading the promotion efforts for our IoT business unit and actively participating in business capture endeavors, from partnering with multiple companies to implementing cutting-edge wireless technologies. Your success in this dynamic position hinges on your market research acumen, technical prowess in communication networks, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with customers, distributors, and our stellar sales and marketing teams.

What You'll Do:

    Responsible for the roll-out of market development strategies to marketing/channel/partner teams including training, webinars, and in-person customer events to develop and grow targeted markets through campaign planning
  • Help define product and service features with Iridium product line management, influence the vision for the IoT roadmap, and work with marketing to build a story that ties the market problem together with the technology Iridium brings
  • Provide marketing analysis as appropriate to help guide continued refinement of strategies, product promotion, and technology roadmaps
  • Participate in the evaluation of existing services and products, identifying areas needing improvement, helping devise strategies to find new opportunities, and coordinating with different departments to ensure profitable growth
  • Clearly communicate and promote the value, benefits and capabilities of the Iridium network through webinars, speaking engagements, and targeted events
  • Collaborate with product marketing to enhance Iridium IoT's reach by developing targeted content, positioning and messaging
  • Provide support and strategic planning assistance for new product, pricing, promotion, and marketing-related programs for the IoT business unit as needed
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, physics, math, computer science, or information technology)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering or product management
  • Experience working on projects in a cross-functional organization
  • Understanding of customer segmentation concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, etc.); strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
  • Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
  • Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others
  • Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • Experience in the terrestrial cellular industry
  • Experience with hardware, communications, or LTE/networking technologies
  • Experience managing projects in a cross-functional organization
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management/Product Marketing at a telecommunications product and service-oriented company

We'll also need you to:

  • Be able to travel up to 10%
  • Be a U.S. citizen

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
