Role Description:

  • Individual will report to the Global Diagnostics Finance Lead and serve as the Finance Lead for the US Diagnostics organization and the business partner for the Head of U.S Zoetis Reference Labs (ZRL) Operations and the Vice President - U.S. Sales, Global Diagnostics
  • Individual will be relied upon to contribute and provide insight into the long-term strategic direction of US Diagnostics through financial modeling, customer targeting, BD/partnership evaluation, marketing, and promotional program evaluation, etc.
  • Individual will be responsible for managing continuous improvement to our financial systems and processes to ensure we keep pace with the evolution of our business and have the appropriate level of foresight in data via KPI's and other key metrics.
  • Individual will be responsible for the full US Diagnostics P&L, ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, variance analysis, and business driver understanding and conveyance to senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnering

  • Serve as the finance lead for the US Diagnostics organization and the business partner for the Head of U.S Zoetis Reference Labs (ZRL) Operations and the Vice President - U.S. Sales, Global Diagnostics
  • Member of the Reference Labs Leadership Team
  • Work closely with US BU Leads and US FP&A to ensure harmonization of processes across species to ensure cross-species synergies and efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the following functions: US Petcare RX, Controllers, Net Revenue Management, Shared Services, Sales and Customer Operations, and Corporate HQ
  • Serve as point of contact for the commercial operations team to answer questions on US operating expenses, financial processes, key organizational resources, etc.

Finance Deal Desk Support

  • Collaborate with the Diagnostics Deal Desk and Net Revenue Management to review and provide financial sign-off on non-standard business exceptions, pricing, and accounting flows via iCertis and manual exception requests.

Business Results & Reporting

  • Responsibility for the full US Diagnostics P&L, ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, variance analysis, and business driver understanding and conveyance to senior leadership.
  • Monitor and track business performance with proactive identification of issues, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Develop and enhance existing reporting tools for the Diagnostics organization using technology platforms such as SAP, Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion Essbase, Anaplan, and Excel.
  • Lead Diagnostics process and develop required deliverables for key financial processes, including monthly close, quarterly earnings analysis, quarterly financial forecasts, and annual operating plans
  • Oversight of Reference Labs standard costing process including year-end cost updates and ad-hoc costing requests
  • Work closely with US Controllers organization to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, Zoetis policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability Requirements:

  • Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial systems, and processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, consistently meeting deadlines on multiple projects and activities
  • Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction from supervisor and to develop new processes given the unique nature of the diagnostics business
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills required
  • SAP and Anaplan experience preferred

Qualifications (Training, Education, & Prior Experience):

  • 7-10 years of experience in corporate finance, preferably financial planning and analysis or business partnering
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or economics
  • MBA a plus; CPA a plus but not required
  • Prior experience in Animal Health, Capital Asset Industries, or Diagnostics a plus but not required
