Highway Project Engineer

PRIME AE Group, Inc. (), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 20 office locations and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast areas, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Highway Project Engineer in one of our Transportation offices (Columbus, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Tampa, Lexington, Harrisburg, Fairfax, or Richmond).

Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to perform highway engineering design for our diverse clientele which includes ODOT, and various municipalities in Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design various types of highway, bridge and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, Drainage and ADA compliance projects.
• Work with the design team comprised of Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and other technical staff to develop engineered solutions for various clients.
• Work on design for a variety of roadway projects including interchanges, intersection improvements, roadway widening/capacity improvements, ADA, and pedestrian safety upgrades.
• Utilize CAD design software such as ORD and Civil 3D for design and plan production.
• Perform field visits for ongoing design projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT required; PE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in highway engineering in a professional setting.
• Proficient in performing InRoads modeling, Openroads (ORD) modeling experience is a plusAbility to work on projects independently.
• Experience working with MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, ODOT L&D, OMUTCD, and ADA regulations.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• An attitude and commitment to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to analyze complex highway issues and alternates and prepare cogent recommendations.
