S&ME is seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for finance to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina as an Accounts Payable Specialist. This role offers the flexibility of working from home with also a few days in the office each week.

What You Will Do:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of our organization. You will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, reconciling accounts, and maintaining proper documentation as well as monitoring/managing the Accounts Payable email Inbox. You will need to possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and good interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external customers professionally. To succeed as an Accounts Payable Specialist, you must be a self-starter and able to work in a team-based environment, you can adapt to a changing business environment and maintain a positive attitude and a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.

• Route vendor invoices for processing and approval.
• Ensure invoices have appropriate approvals and coding.
• Prioritize invoices based on discounts and terms.
• Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies with stakeholders.
• Maintain vendor data and assist with administrative tasks, period close, audits, and special projects.

Who You Are:

• You have a High School Degree or GED
• Associate's degree or higher, a plus
• You have at least two (2) years of Accounts Payable experience
• You have knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
• You are proficient with basic Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables, simple formulas, and copy/paste
• You know BST Software or related accounting software, a plus
• You have experience in an Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry, a plus
