Job Summary:

We are looking for General Laborers to work at the shipyard on ships that are dry-docked for routine maintenance and inspections. You would be doing tasks like; keeping the grounds clear of trash and discarded material surrounding a vessel while it is being worked on, guiding large loads around the yard safely, using pressure washers, sweeping, carrying loads to the dumpsters, using needle guns to strip off old paint, re-painting safety pathway guide strips & other items, moving material on and off the vessel, and assisting crews with other tasks as needed. Essentially you are the shipyard crew's support and helpers!

Key Responsibilities:

• Picking up debris off of the dock

• Sweep garbage and separating pieces into piles

• Putting trash into receptacles/trash bags

• Spraying down dock

• Scraping paint

• Painting

• Moving material off and on vessels

• Performing any additional duties as assigned

Additionally:

• Must be physically fit to complete all required tasks

• Be on your feet for the full shift

• Be able to wear half face respirators in certain situations if needed

• Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead

• Lift and carry up to 40lbs with ease

• Ability to stay focused for the full duration of the shift

• Follow all safety instructions and wear PPE correctly

• Positive attitudes

• Strong work ethic

• Attention to attendance and reliability

Work Environment:

This position requires a lot of outdoor time with exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, metal debris and all types of weather conditions. Must be able & willing to work in all conditions excluding severe weather.

Minimum Requirements: Entry Level Position - Forklift Operation Exp a PLUS

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred, but not required
