About Us

Arc Initiatives is a full-service political, digital, and public affairs consulting firm. Our team consists of experienced professionals ranging from the highest level of national politics, including six presidential campaigns, to grassroots advocacy work and critical state and local races. The team at Arc Initiatives has helped countless clients see the full arc of their initiative and bend it toward the right outcome. We are looking for a research fellow to support our growing political and advocacy research practice for the 2024 election cycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Playing a key role in supporting the research team by translating research into communications and digital-ready materials, and helping to build and maintain research books and memos;
  • Research fellow will analyze candidate and principal records, voting histories, business filings, campaign finance data, media landscapes, and other relevant resources to help inform target audiences about various candidates, causes, and legislation;
  • Developing research documents to inform campaign communications planning, organizational strategic communications, and rapid response purposes;
  • Monitor local and national news for media clips and key data points and narratives to inform strategies;

Qualifications

  • Previous internships in political research on a campaign, committee, progressive organization, or in a closely related field;
  • Ability to use common political research tools and resources, including public records requests, campaign finance reports, personal financial disclosures, legal records, policy and legislation, ad tracking, and LexisNexis;
  • Strict attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Nexis, federal and state-level legislative analysis, campaign finance databases, and gathering of primary source materials;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines.

Please keep in mind: Research has shown that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds only apply to jobs when they meet 100% of the requirements vs. their majority counterparts, which apply at a much higher rate if they meet 50-60% of the requirements. So, with that being said, if you are interested in the role, we would love to hear how you can leverage your talents to be an excellent addition to Arc Initiatives' team.

The Details

  • Salary Range: $20-24/hour depending on experience
  • This fellowship will extend from date of hire until December 15th, 2024
  • Health benefits, including dental and vision
  • Commuter and Telework Benefits
  • Position is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work-from-home and office schedule.
