Job Description
The BlackCat Transit Project Manager’s primary roles are to manage and facilitate project management responsibilities with multiple transportation related clients; to gather requirements, create effective design and prototypes for the development of new components or customization elements of existing products; the timely, successful implementation and maintenance of new and existing client systems; while maintaining and enhancing existing client and transportation community relations.

The BlackCat Transit Project Manager should have a proven track record of modal experience (transit/aviation/rail/highway safety), transportation system planning, and/or grant management experience. It is preferred that the BlackCat Transit Project Manager possess strong project management experience in either business systems implementation or application development across the full project life-cycle (from scoping and process design to implementation and rollout). Should have experience with meeting project schedules and budgets. Organization and leadership skills a must.

This is a full time, salaried position with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience required.
Remote or Hybrid in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The BlackCat Transit Project Manager works on an entrepreneurial transportation software related team to design, develop, support, and maintain SaaS (Software as a Service) software and integrated solutions for government clients in the transportation industry.

  • Work with state government and other clients to manage system implementation including design and delivery, development, rollout schedules, and training preparation.
  • Produce application designs and enhancements utilizing Axure prototyping tools.
  • Produce training and user guidance materials.
  • Provide client and sub-recipient training and support.
  • Work with clients to identify and manage system maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Potentially manage and lead other members of the staff to accomplish corporate goals.
  • Work with client to identify, design, and deliver a variety of standard, custom, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Work with clients and management to develop system customization tasks to meet client and corporate requirements.
  • Work with client contact and management to develop new initiatives and requirements.
  • Responsibilities will include extensive involvement in project management, client coordination, business development, and helping to define product development.
  • Work with the technical team to translate client needs to successful designs and implementations.

  • Willingness and ability to travel on a regular basis.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Ability to productively work independently from any environment.
