The Opportunity:

Factorial Energy is seeking an experienced Head of Government Affairs to lead our strategic engagement with government entities, regulatory bodies, and policy makers. This pivotal role involves shaping public policy, navigating regulatory landscapes, and fostering relationships that support Factorial's mission and business objectives. The successful candidate will be our primary liaison with government officials, influencing policy decisions that impact electrification and next-generation battery technology. This position reports to the General Counsel and travel up to 50% is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive government affairs strategy that aligns with Factorial's mission and business goals.

Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policies that support the advancement of next-generation renewable energy technology.

Regulatory Navigation: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the energy and transportation sectors, providing strategic advice to ensure compliance and capitalize on opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, industry alliances, and key policymakers to influence positive outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate policy positions and advocacy efforts.

Communication: Serve as Factorial's spokesperson on government and policy matters, effectively communicating the company's position to stakeholders and the public.

Funding: Monitor government funding opportunities and lead grant writing efforts.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in government affairs, policy advocacy, or a related field, preferably within the energy sector. Prior relevant Dept. of Energy or Congressional experience is strongly preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with a variety of stakeholders. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of the regulatory and legislative processes related to the energy sector. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and market trends.
Attributes: Proactive, diplomatic, and capable of managing complex issues and relationships. Commitment to Factorial's mission and values.
