Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading global broadcast production company focused on providing managed services to major broadcast networks, corporations, and studios. It is also a top producer of live multicamera news, sports, entertainment, and corporate broadcast productions. BMG has operations in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Las Vegas.


Broadcast Management Group is looking for a full-time studio Manager to provide management and hands on operation for studio and on-location productions. The Studio Manager will be responsible for building production schedules, building and maintaining budgets, managing freelance bookings, have hands on operations of technical functions in the control room/studio, technical directing, editing, and field production as needed. The Production Account Manager must have experience working in live, multi-camera production environments, events. Ideal candidates must be very outgoing, have strong presentation skills, and a track-record of building long-term client and vendor relationships.  This position will be based out of a BMG’s corporate client site in Mclean, Virginia.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage scheduling and facility usage
  • Manage the archive systems
  • Direct studio productions operating a Tricaster production switcher
  • Provide support for studio and ENG productions
  • Coordinate with Creative Services for graphic and video elements
  • Secure and organize all resources needed for all productions (video clips and audio clips, connectivity for both in-bound and out-bound feeds, studio set configuration, any additional needs such as lighting, audio, make-up, etc.)  
  • Create and distribute weekly production schedules
  • Book, schedule, and manage all contract labor  
  • Facilitate the training of contract technical personnel to fill-in on an as-needed basis
  • Create and maintain production budgets
  • Knowledge/experience in producing high end corporate video
  • Operating streaming encoders and transmission equipment
  • Write a weekly report summarizing the activities and goals for the upcoming week, due each Friday by 5pm

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of Tricaster
  • Experience technical directing live broadcast
  • Production management experience with live television production
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience with live streaming and video transmission
  • Strong video editing experience using Adobe Premier
  • Graphics design using Adobe Suite
  • Studio lighting experience
