Successfully completes small to medium engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Purpose Our company is looking for a dedicated, qualified plumbing and fire protection engineer to support our current clients. If you like to work within a small, focused, team-supported project environment, then this could be the perfect job for you! Duties: Lead plumbing and piping applications. Additional duties may include the following: Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping codes. Proficiency in adhering to codes such as the International Plumbing Code, National Plumbing Code, ANSI/ISEA Z358.1, ASME B31.2, and OSHA standards Develop detailed piping and plumbing drawings in Revit and AutoCAD. Develop design drawings and specifications for plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations of preliminary water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC process. Develop plumbing systems for various types of facilities, including industrial, chemical, electric vehicle, data center, pulp & paper, microelectronics, general manufacturing, and pharmaceutical facilities - Specialize in utility and plumbing systems such as steam, chilled water, cooling water, potable water, compressed air, natural gas, DWV, process drains, potable water, and storm drains - Develop final design documents, specifications, sequences of operation, piping layout, and construction documents for these systems. Perform pipe sizing calculations and specifications. Ability to detail plumbing and piping components in carbon, stainless and PVC plastic materials. Work as a team member with construction team project manager, and fabrication and installation crews. Develop piping layouts, specify mechanical devices such as steam traps and valves. Prepare Shop Drawings for field installation. Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors. Performing analysis of existing fire protection systems, as well as designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, alarm and mass notification systems Demonstrates core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field required. Veterans welcomed. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Working Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit are a must. Professional demeanor and communication skills are a must. Engineer In Training (EIT) or PE Industry experience in regulated industries such as chemical processing, F&B and biopharma. Industry experience in non-regulated industries such as water/wastewater, military contracts and public works. Piping & Instrumentation (P&ID) interpretation. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Capacity to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
