Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Commerce
Shift: 2nd shift 2:30pm – 11:00 days off will vary to include Sunday and a day off during the week.
Pay: $27.61 - $35.00 Purpose: Maintains equipment and machinery in a safe, working order. Completes scheduled maintenance projects, conducts preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, and responds to equipment and machine problems with a high sense of urgency. Maintains, modifies, and completes set-ups, improvements, and electrical problems on production machines. Actively supports efforts; applies Team Leader Principles, vision, and mission statement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots and repairs electronic components and circuitry.
Maintains machine electrical integrity and ensures that all is up to code and safe.
Assists with daily set-ups and tests.
Responsible for and/or assists outside contractors in troubleshooting and rebuilding machinery and performs preventative maintenance as directed.
Assists in the installation of new production equipment and ensures that new equipment is installed in accordance with local and federal codes (O.S.H.A.).
Actively evaluates parts room for inventory and informs Team Leader when parts are needed.
Adheres to Company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing and Standard Operating Practices.
Welds, fabricates, and installs repair parts as necessary.
Supports machine operators and Team Leaders to ensure efficient facility operations.
Sharpens and/or replaces slicing blades as necessary.
Supports VFM practices by maintaining shop tools in good repair and in their proper place.
Assists Sanitation in the assembly and disassembly of equipment as necessary.
Completes a daily log of calls and work performed.
Other duties as assigned by Team Leader.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to effectively respond to frequent interruptions.
Must be able to bend, lift, stand, stoop, climb, and move in a safe and alert manner.
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
Must be able to work effectively with all employees and management with minimum supervision.
Proven mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Must supply and maintain in good repair a set of standard and metric multi-purpose tools.
Must be able to work extended hours and weekend shifts as required.
Must follow all O.S.H.A. and Company safety rules.
Must read schematics, use electrical test equipment, and have a working knowledge of electrical codes.
Must have and proactively seek to improve verbal and written workplace English skills.
Must be able to perform the essential job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
