DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a part-time Residential Program Worker, you will assist people who are returning to the community after mental health hospitalization or preventing premature hospitalization. This work supports consumers' efforts to reintegrate into or remain in their communities, fosters success in recovery, and helps consumers build the confidence and self-reliance needed for full independent living.

Our small facility offers the opportunity to work closely with consumers in their home environments to support each person's efforts to implement goals, plans, and objectives. This includes training consumers in home safety protocols, providing transportation when necessary, documenting and charting consumers' progress, and sharing observations with your supervisor or team members as appropriate.

With our small but mighty team's shift schedule, we ensure 24-hour coverage to provide the best possible care for our limited number of consumers who each reside in their own apartments. Choose this part-time opportunity to make a real impact in your community!

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment
  • Work hours approximately 15-20 hours per week including part-time on-call with evenings, overnights, and weekends as part of the schedule. Tuesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as a Residential Program Trainee; or
  • One year of experience in a Human Services Agency working with the mentally disabled, the elderly, or children and youth; or
  • Two years of college which includes courses appropriate to the Human Services field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
