IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We have an immediate need for an Arborist/Urban Forester to work out of one of our . In this role, you will assist in completing existing vegetation surveys, forest stand delineations, arborist site inspections, and preparing and providing technical expertise for tree preservation/invasive species management plans, landscape plans, entitlement and site plan submissions. The position will entail a balance of field and office work.IMEG will also consider candidates who have a joint background and/or experience in arboriculture and landscape architecture or environmental planning.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

• Prepare Tree Preservation Plans

• Existing Vegetation Maps

• Invasive Species Management Plans

• Forest Stand Delineations

• Landscape Plans

• Tree Assessment Reports

• Conducting site inspections for tree preservation compliance with approved plans, codes and facility manuals

• Build and maintain external relationships with both clients and jurisdictional staff

• Other duties as assigned

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

• Local Plant Knowledge (including trees/shrubs) for identification and assessment

• Experience with the preparation of tree and urban forestry requirements for jurisdictional entitlement, submission drawings and site plans

• Experience with local zoning ordinances and public facilities manuals

• Ability to work both collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organization and documentation skills

• Competency with relevant software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD

Education and experience requirements are:

• Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Ecology or Biology, or a similar discipline from an accredited university or college

• 2+ years relevant experience

• ISA Arborist Certification preferred
