Salary:

Madden's is an award-winning resort, located on more than 1,000 acres, that anticipates the wishes and desires of vacationers and offers them fantastic golf, upscale dining, lakeside spa, tennis, activity programs for children, biking, shopping, and art gallery with painting classes and almost every kind of on-the-water recreation possible in Minnesota, including fishing. Our philosophy is simply to provide the best that Minnesota has to offer.  The Golf Course Maintenance Internship is a summer of 2024, ten to twelve-week, structured program which contains assignments that will provide learning objectives that give students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in the golf maintenance industry.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Irrigation operation and repairs
  • Daily course maintenance
  • Turf grass cultural programs
  • Daily course set-up
  • Assisting in and managing various projects; to include the management of small crews
  • All aspects of golf course management
  • Natural/Native area management
  • Toro Lynx central control training
  • Fertilizer/pesticide application, calibration and record keeping
  • Turf grass cultural practices (mowing, verticutting, topdressing, aerifying, rolling, etc.)
  • Water Management/Irrigation
  • Follow Madden’s Core Values
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular & Reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

To qualify for the intern opportunity, you must be enrolled in a Golf/Turf Management/ landscaping or equivalent program at a 2- or 4-year degreed school.


Work Environment:

Work is performed at multiple locations, mainly outside.


Physical Demands:

Primarily stationery such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound bags and items sometimes repeatedly. Must be able to be in an outside weather conditions frequently.
