National Salvage and Service is seeking to hire a Controller which is based out of our office in Bloomington, Indiana.

Job Classification:

  • Monday - Friday

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support Executive Leadership and Corporate Departments through gathering and analyzing financial, metric and other data
  • Develop and maintain annual budget, long range financial models, and scenario analysis.
  • Performs economic and financial research and studies of the Company’s spending, financial trends, and ratios.
  • ERP planning including current state and future state including implementation assistance as needed.
  • Month-end and year-end financial close.
  • Provides training to users of financial information as necessary to enhance the understanding and usefulness of the information provided.
  • Hands-on approach to helping the leadership teams understand financial data presented.
  • Comfortable leading a team of 7+ accounting clerks and accountants.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams as assigned throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of wide-ranging experience in Accounting or Corporate Finance with revenue over 100M.
  • Deep knowledge of effective leadership. Able to easily identify talent within the department and create strategic succession plans accordingly.
  • Financial reporting and financial statement analysis under GAAP; exposure to statutory accounting principles a plus.
  • Able to lead cooperative efforts among members of project teams.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced Excel & business modeling skills required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with financial management systems; knowledge of Sage300 and TimberScan, a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: sit, stand, sit for long periods of time, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, work comfortably in a typical indoor office environment.
