We do this through a continuum of focused programs addressing the well-being of children and families of all ages, the independence and well-being of older adults, and the optimal quality of life for individuals with special needs.


The Direct Support Professional assists residents and supports the work of the Residential Care Manager with specific tasks, allowing the resident to live independently in a supported apartment setting.


Direct Support Professional Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents of the apartment program to support client care plan and help execute life skill such as grooming, hygiene, time management, housekeeping, personal safety skills, and basic emergency skills
  • Ensures the safety of the client and the residence to minimize accidents and protect the client’s well-being
  • Provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, recreational programs and shopping
  • Administer medications to clients when requested/needed
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in the program communication log and in the client’s files.
  • Complete incident reports when needed/required timely
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to meet quality and program standards
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience required, working with special needs population preferred
  • Valid FL License and good driving record
  • Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • Annual medical certification to perform job functions
  • Able and willing to drive a twelve (12) passenger van
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with various employees throughout the organization
