The EHR Support Specialist will be responsible for fulfilling medical records requests from various facilities and processing insurance requests from the internal billing department. Assist in organizing medical records within the archive building. Maintain updated client information in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure completeness of required documentation by providers. Handle phone inquiries related to requests. Complete necessary training modules in Paylocity.


JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to accurately organize and maintain medical records with precision.
  • Capacity to effectively manage and categorize large volumes of medical documentation.
  • Understanding of and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, patients, and other staff members.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other software used for medical record management.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in procedures or technology within the healthcare industry.
  • Aptitude for resolving discrepancies or issues that may arise during the medical records process.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Capability to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift heavy boxes or files as needed in the organization of medical records.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate should

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have at least one year of experience in medical records.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office,
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills
  • Have familiarity with HIPAA and 42 CFR part 2 regulations
