Pharmacy Technician

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assisting Pharmacist: Working under the supervision of pharmacists to prepare and dispense medications.
• Medication Management: Handling prescription orders, preparing medications, completion of refill assessment via patient outreach, and managing inventory.
• Customer Service: Interacting with patients, answering queries, and assisting with prescription information, problem resolution.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate patient profiles and ensuring proper documentation of medications.
• Technical Duties: Filling prescriptions accurately, handling medication histories, and assisting in compounding medications (if applicable), completion of prior authorizations, follow up with providers offices.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhering to regulatory standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

   Education and Experience:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification/Licensure: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required. Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in pharmacy settings, ranging from retail to specialty pharmacies, is beneficial. At least 1 year of experience preferred.

 Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Skills: Proficiency in basic math, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with medical and pharmaceutical terminology, computer systems, and pharmacy software is advantageous.
• Specialty Certification: Additional certifications such as IV certification, Regulatory Compliance, Supply Chain and Inventory Management, Billing and Reimbursement or other specialty certifications preferred.

• $18 - $23 per hour
