Your Opportunity + Impact

The Navy Market Program Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing Larson Design Group’s (LDG) strategy for growth and success in the marketing and positioning of the company with the U.S. Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and related clients. This National leadership position will involve close partnership and coordination with LDG’s Executive Leadership Team, Federal Business Development and Operations staff and other key Senior Leadership across the U.S. This individual will develop and be responsible for the development and implementation of the Navy strategic business plan to expand the firm’s services in support of the built environment. This will include identifying and aggressively pursuing and developing new market opportunities as well as expanding existing relationships within the marketplace.

The successful candidate will drive relationship advancement with key clients including national large and small business contractors, A/E partners and concessionaires, and identify specific project opportunities as well as support proposal development. Post contract/project award, expectations are that the individual may be involved in contract/scope negotiations and work plan development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be part of the Federal Leadership Team setting direction of the Navy programs.
  • Develop and maintain trusted adviser relationships with key clients across the nation.
  • Determine direction and lead market awareness including involvement in professional associations, technical articles, conferences, and boards.
  • Work with our client service teams, local offices, and divisions in the development of targeted client action plans to meet defined sales goals.
  • Lead Navy related Market Research.
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust Sales Funnel for continuous, managed growth in the Navy Market segment.
  • Lead our Brand Development with the Navy
  • Provide leadership and direction in strategic positioning for key opportunities.
  • Manage client relationships and guide the application of LDG services nationwide to best serve the interests of the client and LDG.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from accredited program, Advanced engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 20 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing and business development with federal clients.
  • Previous working relationship with US Navy and knowledge of US Navy contracting.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing successful business capture plans for major sales prospects.
  • Experience with marketing professional services normally associated with engineering, planning, design, and construction.
  • Experience with significant MILCON, FMS, SRM or related projects or programs.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA) and/or PMP Preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated record of servicing, maintaining, and expanding client relationships and achieving revenue goals.
  • Ability to work as a team member in cooperation within and across technical disciplines. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues and key players in Navy Marketplace.
  • Must demonstrate excellent speaking, oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of senior leadership, employees, management, clients, and public officials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
