At Comfort Keepers, you will spend your days providing joy, friendship and at-home care services to seniors and other aging adults in need of some extra help. You will allow a senior the familiarity and comfort of staying in their own home without compromising their non-medical care.

As a CNA, HHA, or GNA on our team, you will provide one-on-one assistance to seniors in the comfort of their own homes to ensure they are living the most positive and purposeful lives possible. You will provide in-home support for daily tasks, personal care, and hobbies to ensure the senior’s non-medical needs are met and their personal goals are carried out. This position requires weekend work from 9am-9pm.

CNA/HHA/GNA Responsibilities:

• Establish open communication and develop friendly relationships with seniors and their families
• Help seniors with daily tasks such as light housekeeping and organization
• Provide laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes
• Accompany seniors to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
• Prepare and serve meals and/or snacks
• Provide grooming and dressing guidance
• May remind client of medications
• Organize transportation, ambulation, and transfers
• Encourage activity and movement
• Inspire a positive, can-do attitude when it comes to daily tasks, appointments, and hobbies
• Maintain a trusting and comforting environment in the home
• Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance
• Document services delivered in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  

CNA/HHA/GNA Qualifications:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), Home Health Aide (HHA) license or at least one year of professional caregiving experience
• Must be available to work weekends from 9:00am - 9:00pm
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required
• Excellent business and personal references
• Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation for potential client errands and appointment trips as needed
• Genuinely concerned about helping people
• High morale standards of honesty and integrity
• Satisfactorily complete Comfort Keepers training and orientation program
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Lifting only up to 25 pounds is permitted and may be required

Applicant must be bondable and pass the minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: Criminal Background Investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record, Credit History and business and personal references and give permission to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

May provide any additional duties that the Caregiver has been trained in and is determined to be competent in, as long as those duties fall within the Maryland licensing regulations for Personal Assistance Services. Contact with blood or other body fluids may pose a risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Current openings include client assignments in the Upper Marlboro, Chesapeake Beach, Huntingtown, Davidsonville, Largo and Bowie, MD areas for a variety of days and hours for someone with the right background and experience.
