Job Description
GRANTS MANAGER
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our organization as a Grants Manager. The Grants Manager will help to ensure that the grant funding opportunities support ASCB’s mission and programs. The role involves assisting both the finance and programmatic departments manage the entire grants lifecycle, from assistance with proposal coordination to grant compliance and reporting. The Grants Manager reports to the Vice President, Finance and Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Financial Management
  • Financial Management: Monitor expenditures to ensure that funds are properly allocated and in compliance in accordance with grant agreements, federal guidelines and organizational budget. Will also manage the financial aspects of grant applications, renewals, and closures.
  • Grant Reporting: Prepare annual grant reports for submission to external funders and federal agencies on a timely basis, in compliance with the funder’s requirements that meet submission deadlines. Will also prepare monthly budget to actual variance report for review.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, financial policies, and regulations. Assist with audits and financial reviews related to grants. Collaborate with finance and program team to develop accurate and detailed grant budgets.
  • Budget Planning and Analysis: Work closely with program managers to develop and monitor grant budgets. Provide regular financial analysis and projections for grant-related activities.
  • Monthly Reconciliations: Reconcile cash receipts and grant drawdowns with general ledger records to ensure accuracy.
  • Communication and Coordination: Serve as the primary financial contact for grantors, program staff, and external auditors. Ensure effective communication regarding grant financial matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Grant Management
  • Collaboratively interact with internal staff for the purpose of identifying grant requirements and ensuring all grants are aligned with the organization’s missions and goals.
  • Coordinating with program team to develop and maintain a comprehensive grants calendar to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Calculate and submit provisional and final indirect rate submissions.
  • Manage all aspects of sub-award agreements and budgets
  • Manage relationships with external grant stakeholders such as principal investigators.
  • Stay informed about funding trends, government regulations, and changes in the grant landscape.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, business or related field
  • Five plus years of experience in working with grant management for federal and private grants.
  • Understanding and knowledge of federal and foundation grant compliance and reporting requirements
  • Experience in post-award administration of federal and private grants is a plus.
  • Strong research, analytical skills, and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS office and financial software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
