Sodexo at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee the plant operations, compliance, capital projects and client relations located in Valencia, CA. 

 

This Director of Facilities Operations will oversee Life Safety Compliance for the health system, participate in permitting, ILSM, vendor management, and training. Participate as key member of facilities management team and client leadership.  Highly customer interactive position. This position will maintain continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from a number of regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission (TJC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Will maintain regulatory readiness documentation, ensuring system is in compliance with regulatory standards and team is trained and ready for regulatory inspections.

 

The Director 3, Facilities Operations will manage all aspects of routine maintenance at a hospital or system including management of the physical plant, electrical delivery systems, medical gas delivery systems, emergency generators, and physical plant troubleshooting and project management. Manages the engineering staff including Operations Managers, Engineering Directors at smaller units under their direct supervision, tradespersons, day laborers, electricians, painters, plant engineers, general contractors, journeymen and electrical engineers. Manages the general safety of the hospital and acts as the designated safety officer for the hospital. Supervises general contractors hired to assist the hospital with renovations, new construction or any modifications to the existing structure.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure compliance with health, safety and medical regulations at each location.
  2. Manages activities concerning technical development and scheduling.
  3. Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets. Controls expenditures within the limitations of the project and department budgets.
  4. Ensures maintenance of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds are in operative and safe working condition at all times.
  5. Responsible for constant state of readiness to comply with TJC, EOC, Life Safety and Emergency Preparedness survey inspections, preparation and document requirements.
  6. Ensures that the health system is in compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Assists in gathering information and assembling files for State Health Inspections.
  7. Works directly with Senior Leadership to develop and implement plans for the hospital facilities vision and growth.
