We are currently seeking a full-timeSolar Programs Project ManagerII -Consumer Protectionto join our Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) team. As a member of the DERs Department, you will assist with driving customer participation in programs that incentivize the adoption of distributed and community solar. Solar energy is critical in driving our nation's progress toward a decarbonized grid, and you will play a material role in helping our team make this future a reality.

This position will be a part of the Consumer Protection team supporting our work as the Program Administrator for Illinois Shines. Illinois Shines is the statewide incentive program aimed to assist people across Illinois to more affordably transition to solar power. To meet Illinois' goal of having 100% of its energy come from renewable energy sources by 2050, it is imperative that consumers' rights are protected when working with companies registered with the Program. Daily responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Apply and convey the complex processes, policies and expectations of program stakeholders
  • Evaluate participating customer complaints as a member of a high-performing team
  • Work with consumers (both via telephone and email) on their complaints and help facilitate resolution of those complaints with the consumer's solar companies; escalate issues as appropriate to program leadership
  • Investigate allegations of program violations, make recommendations for potential disciplinary action, and draft disciplinary-related letters to vendors alleged to have violated Program requirements
  • Manage special projects related to consumer protection issues
  • Update public-facing Consumer Protection Database
  • Follow established SOPs for complaint resolution and disciplinary action, including communicating directly with solar vendors and customers
  • Document statistics and contributing to disciplinary and complaint reporting
  • Provide educational materials related to consumer protection requirements and best practices for new vendors and vendor designees
  • Contribute to educational workshops on consumer protection topics such as marketing best practices and program requirements
  • Manage the design and implementation of multiple projects and bringing them to conclusion
  • Communicate project progress to management and clients
  • Interact with customers, clients, and external collaborators via phone and email
  • Understand program priorities and adjusting workload accordingly

Minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in consumer protection, legal, investigations, compliance and/or customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple cases
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office (Office365, SharePoint, OneNote)

Desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge of solar energy concepts and terminology
  • Prior experience in consumer protection and/or compliance
  • Proficiency in Spanish, including written communication

Salary DOE: $77,000 - $90,000/Annually

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
