Job Description: Responsible for the maternity unit and all sub-units. Coordinates activities related to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and the baby nursery. Responsible for community outreach programs through education and women's health initiatives. Operates within a set budget and in accordance with organizational performance standards. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have a valid license to practice professional nursing by the state. BSN required. MSN or masters in related field preferred. Specialty certification in obstetrics preferred. Minimum of 7 to 10 years acute care maternal/child experience, including two years of management or supervisory experience. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and AWOHNN Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months.
