About the Role
BetMGM is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Cyber & IT Risk to provide hands-on leadership for the team. This individual will be a key senior role within technology and be part of the senior technology leadership team, collaborating with the Director of Technical Governance and Director Incident Management and Enterprise Support. This position is under the supervision of the Chief Architect.
You will exhibit a combination of leadership, in-depth expertise of technology risks and controls and highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills that will directly influence the Technology Risk and Controls Framework that is critical to the overall success of BetMGM. Our Information Security professionals are passionate about information security and control solutions for our office and gaming environments. While managing a world-class team of technology experts, you'll partner with one or more disciplines with our parent organization of MGM and Entain to respond to evolving business requirements and emerging threats. You'll also leverage your expert knowledge of today's ever-changing cybersecurity, technical state regulations and risk landscape to influence Technology across our business.
In this leadership position, the Senior Director explores new technologies and software as appropriate and in conjunction with the Chief Technology Officer oversees the architecture and implementation of ongoing support of the network, server, and communications infrastructure through a cyber and IT risk lens.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design of the technology risk and control framework for expression of the technology risk and control environment
  • Lead risk reviews and vulnerability assessments, identifying threats, communicating with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Help define technology's approach for compliance with the firm's operational risk management framework
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for framework related inquiries as a trusted advisor and authority on application of the framework
  • Manage BetMGM Cybersecurity team and policies
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Provide senior technical support to all direct reporting teams and business
  • Offer guidance, best practices, and support across businesses to drive awareness and understanding of the technology risk and controls framework and challenges to compliance with it
  • Work closely with various partners across the business and state regulators, including but not limited to colleagues in EUS, Enterprise Technology product & engineering, Information Risk Managers and Technologists in our Businesses and Corporate Functions, Operational Risk Management & Compliance, Audit
  • Develop relationships with senior business executives and partner across organization lines to mitigate risks to accomplish common goals
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative workplace environment and building/maintaining productive working relationships with all team members and stakeholders
  • You'll also leverage your expert knowledge of today's ever-changing cybersecurity and risk landscape to influence IT operations across BetMGM
  • Develop IT policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates effectively and efficiently
  • Create a cohesive strategy for online gaming technology cyber and IT Risk
  • Product owner for cyber and IT risk backlog
  • Ensure all regulatory audits and cyber assessments are carried out per yearly calendar
  • Ensure all remediation work is carried out and reported per SLAs
  • Ensure support models are in place for all new state rollouts
  • Manage Kanban boards to monitor, adapt and improve
  • Ensure the evaluation of emerging technologies
  • Promote use of DevOps culture
  • Attend relevant sprint retrospectives
  • Contribute to review of new innovative product developments providing regulatory and risk management framework guidance
  • Ensure agreed SLA's are met and report on any exceptions
  • Create department KPIs and reporting metrics
  • Promote an honest and transparent culture
  • Responsible for the continuous review of existing cyber and IT risk to enhance performance and/or operational costs
  • Ensure the removal of technical resource silos and technical debt
  • Ensure engineers are encouraged to participate in the technical guilds and provide guidance on guild initiatives
  • Provide full transparency through the use on online dashboards and metrics
  • Responsible for ensuring we meet regulatory SLA's for all cyber & IT risk technical responses
  • Responsible for monitoring KPI's, involved in establishing OLA
  • Ensuring that all team members adhere to agreed operational processes
Essential Functions
  • Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Technology preferred, but not required
  • Formal training or certification on technology controls concepts and 10+ years industry experience
  • Proven experience leading/managing in the technology risk & controls and information risk management fields
  • Mastery of multiple business disciplines and functions, including policies and standards, risk and control assessments, access controls, control remediation, regulatory compliance, technology resiliency, risk and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, testing and certification, vulnerability management, and data protection
  • Expertise in controls; resource management; technological, organizational and operational change management; conflict resolution; negotiation; stakeholder management; partnership and influence; and budget and financial management, including business case completion
  • Strong strategic vision and a track record of successful delivery of business objectives
  • Expertise in working with colleagues throughout the firm and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of compliance, conduct, and operational risk management frameworks and processes
  • Expertise in common technology controls for industry best practices (e.g., from NIST, ISO, ISACA, GLI etc.) frameworks
  • Knowledge of technology-relevant financial services regulation (e.g., FFIEC handbooks, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout BetMGM to accomplish common goals
  • Expertise in application and infrastructure high-availability and resiliency architectures with demonstrated experience in business
  • Gaming regulatory experience 10+ years
