About the Position

The City of Las Vegas Department of Neighborhood Services invites applications for Professional (Health and Wellness). The City of Las Vegas Neighborhood Services Department is seeking a qualified part-time professional to provide administrative support to programs and special events under the Health and Wellness division and maternal health program. This positon requires some evening and weekend hours.

This is an hourly entry-level, part-time position. Scheduled hours for this position are limited to 19 hours or less per week (Shift will be Mon - Thurs either morning or afternoon). Hourly employees are also limited to 1,560 hours of work in any 18-month period.

Location: Varies - travel required


Supervision Received
Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process will include a review of all applications with only the most qualified participating in an interview. Final candidate selection will include hiring interview (if applicable). Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and complete background check. Some positions may require preliminary background checks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform administrative duties including data collection and data entry, document preparation and maintaining records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy
  • Support program staff in managing client files and documentation
  • Provide timely and empathetic communication with clients, offering administrative support for their inquiries and needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to maternal health program and events
  • Coordinate with external agencies and partners to facilitate the provision of services to clients.
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, providing information and redirecting queries as appropriate.
  • Assist in organizing and supporting community outreach and engagement events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as required.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License at the time of application and maintain thereafter
