Product Safety Engineer
•
5+ years of evaluating the field performance of consumer products
•
In-depth knowledge of consumer electronics and experience with troubleshooting and repairing both hardware and software
•
Experience with Apple hardware and software is a plus
•
Able to conduct careful disassembly and analysis of products utilizing cameras, microscopes, x-rays, and other analytical equipment
•
Knowledge of hand tools and electronic measurement equipment including digital multimeters, electronic loads, power supplies, thermocouples, data acquisition tools, etc.
•
Deep working knowledge of Safety Test Standards & Test Procedures as per IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, 62368-1, 60065 & 62133 (or regional equivalents) & Safety Test Equipment.
•
Ability to comprehend UL/CB Safety Test Reports in detail and critically review it from safety perspective to analyse field returns.
•
Ability to comprehend electrical schematics & layout, mechanical drawings & other engineering data in pursuit of resolving field safety issues.
•
Ability to maintain detailed inventory of devices. Includes documentation/storage/disposition of devices per prescribed guidelines.
•
Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 to maintain laboratory equipment and test procedures.
•
Ensuring lab discipline in terms of usage & upkeep of test equipment, test accessories & test samples.
•
Ensuring data logging for the usage of test equipment & test accessories.
•
Create documentation/SOPs outlining execution of common tests/analysis steps as determined by safety standards in formats that are easily interpretable to execute.
•
Well-versed in the collection, organization and distillation of test data to form a cohesive data set with clear traceability.
•
Excels in self directed multi-tasking, time management and prioritization of tasks
•
Flexible and comfortable working in a quickly changing environment.

Work with cross functional teams to receive information/requirements that drive completion of projects.
