Job Title
Failure Analysis CT Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking an individual to work with X-ray and CT techniques to assist in the
development and failure analysis of consumer electronics. While a background in Industrial Xray/
CT and/or electronics is not required, experience working in a lab environment and an
openness and ability to learning on the job is ideal. A significant portion of the role will involve
determining best scan setup for a variety of samples as well as using own knowledge of
electronics/materials and communication with other engineers to effectively analyze the
resulting data. This person must work well in a team environment.
Scope
- Use lab-based nano- and micro-focus CT techniques
- Operate CT and 2D X-ray machines
- Collect, process, and analyze CT data
- Recommend next steps for Failure Analysis (if any) from CT data results
- Effectively work with range of groups across Hardware Organization
Education:
At minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics,
Materials Science, or related field
Skills and Experience:
- Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills

- Familiarity with Failure Analysis techniques such as Optical Microscopy, X-ray/CT, XRD,
SEM, EDS, FIB, FTIR, GCMS etc.
