What will I do as a Glass Decorator?

Produce standard and customized globes. Prepare finish materials, apply or etch, inspect and pack for shipment.

What are the job responsibilities?

Principal Accountabilities

§ Fulfill decorative glass production according to production list provided by Production Planner.

§ Manufacture, pack and deliver decorative glass for shipment following standard work instructions.

§ Prepare paints and finish media following prescribed formulations following standard work instructions; prepare decorative glass to ensure adhesion and consistency of finish following standard work instructions.

§ Apply finishes with spray equipment, brush application, etching equipment or other manual techniques; kiln cure as required following standard work instructions.

§ Produce R&D prototypes as requested from product development; assist with development of effective/efficient production processes for new products.

§ Maintain equipment in good working order; notify Plant Manager of any quality issues with equipment in a timely manner.

§ Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

§ Work effectively as a team member in the decorative glass department.

§ Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area; responds appropriately to 5S audits as required.

§ Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

§ Actively participates in improvement activities within scope of Job Description.

§ Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.

§ Develop new designs and processes.

§ Document processes, formulas, and techniques used to produce finishes products.

§ Support company goals within scope of Job Description

§ All other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications for this position?

• Understanding of basic math sufficient to formulate finish mixtures
• Mechanical aptitude
• Controlled fine motor skills
• Artistic flare

• Art & Design Background
• Color Theory
• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
• Ability to work as a team
• Customer Service Focused

Physical Requirements

Ability to withstand long hours of standing and/or sitting. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
