GM Technician

Job Summary: The responsibilities of a Service Technician include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles. They will have GM and ASE certifications and great communication skills.

About Us: Stinnett Chevrolet Buick is a clean, excellent shop where our GM techs can make $80k to $150k depending on YOUR diesel and/or transmission skills! Stinnett in Newport, TN, is smack dab in the most colorful and scenic part of the Smoky Mountains, close to many NASCAR and drag racing tracks, PLUS great hunting, hiking, boating and fishing!

Responsibilities:

• Perform quality/accurate work as specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership and factory guidelines/procedures.
• Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed of the status of their maintenance/repairs and if any additional service is needed
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
• Properly record accurate repair time and required documentation of work performed
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
• Factory certifications preferred
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Fast, eager learner and team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer skills and willingness to learn new programs
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
