Pay: $14 - $17 / hour

Job Summary:

Dishwashers contribute to the efficient support of the restaurant experience by supplying guests and employees with tableware that has been cleaned and sanitized according to established standards. Key responsibilities washing, placing, setting up and maintaining clean tableware, receiving, replenishing, and rotating stock according to established back-of-house standard operations manuals. Dishwashers are highly knowledgeable of all Company safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols, and are flexible in responding to operational needs with a “can-do” approach.

Job Duties:
  • Provide guests and employees with clean and sanitized utensils, plateware, and glassware.
  • Ensure dishes are clean and available as needed.
  • Responsible for setting up dish machine in the morning and closing down machine in the evening.
  • Wash tableware according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Place clean tableware in specified shelves according to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Set up lined trash cans in employee restrooms, prep cooking lines, and dish room.
  • Maintain the kitchen’s cleanliness by sweeping/ mopping floors, and emptying trash.
  • Trouble-shoot any dish machine malfunctions.
  • Inform Manager on duty of any problems and take fast action when necessary.
  • Work frequently in a hot, damp environment.
  • Hazards include cuts, burns, and slipping/tripping.
  • Must be dressed in clean Company uniforms at all times.
  • Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working
Education/ Experience:
  • High school or 1 year experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate English.
  • Must be able to pass dishwasher training and validation.
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machinery
  • Basic interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively engage others verbally
  • Ability to listen and speak in basic English in order to maintain effective communications in the performance of essential job functions
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of plate ware, cleaning equipment, garbage etc. weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to wash dishes, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to deliver food, pick up dirty dishware, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning to place dishes in machine, etc.
