Traffic Engineer

ATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted Traffic Engineer to join our team! This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices. We are considering candidates based out of Herndon or Richmond, VA, Baltimore, MD, Raleigh, NC OR Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities:

• Apply broad knowledge of leading-edge transportation engineering principles and techniques to improve the efficiency, reliability, resilience, and safety of transportation systems.
• Analyze and document findings in technical memos, project reports and research summaries.
• Utilize Excel, Synchro, VISSIM, HSM, ISATe, Cube and additional traffic operations to develop plans.
• Prepare traffic design plans using Microstation or AutoCAD

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field required.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 0-3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience managing tasks, projects, and/or staff is required.
• Ability to complete assignments with high quality, on time, and within budget.
• Must have self-initiative to solve problems and to keep up to date on the latest innovations in traffic engineering.
• Ability to seamlessly juggle between competing projects and priorities.
• Must demonstrate technical professional competency in traffic engineering and transportation planning as it relates to the safety, planning, engineering, design, and operational needs of transportation systems.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience with ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) technology is a plus.
• Experience with safety analysis techniques preferred.
• Demonstrated capabilities with Microstation and AutoCAD graphic packages preferred.
• Experience in multiple types off traffic studies, development of microsimulation networks and analysis of transportation data sets desire
