The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) was established in 1976 as an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The mission of BPS is to improve patient care by positioning BPS Board-Certified Pharmacist Specialists as integral members of interprofessional healthcare teams, through recognition and promotion of specialized training, knowledge, and skills for pharmacists in the United States and internationally. Board certification is a recognized credential for determining which pharmacists are qualified to contribute at advanced practice levels given the rigorous standards mandated by BPS board certification and recertification. BPS currently recognizes more than 54,400 active pharmacist certifications across 14 specialties

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Manager, Quality Assurance, you will:

  • Assist with NCCA and ISO 17024 accreditation applications and support the maintenance of these accreditations by documenting quality assurance activities.
  • Assist in conducting internal and external audits and create audit reports and executive summaries.
  • Monitor vendor performance, and track key quality performance metrics using applicable software applications.
  • Control changes, reviews, approvals, disposition and retention of all BPS documentation using QMS software application.
  • Generate and revise standard operating procedures and related documents per the BPS Quality Management System.
  • Assist BPS staff in conducting quality improvement projects for their areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain quality assurance dashboard to monitor key performance indicators and communicate BPS quality metrics to management.
  • Analyze and solve quality problems by monitoring trends from various data sources using six sigma quality tools.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
APhA may be the right fit for you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience will be considered
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in certification/accreditation/licensure and/or quality management system environment. Experience with NCCA and/or ISO 17024 standards preferred.
  • Experience as an auditor or six-sigma yellow belt or green belt also preferred
  • Advanced skills with MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with social media platforms a plus.
  • Experience in electronic Quality Management and/or Document Management Systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.

LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
