Lexus of Nashville has the exciting opportunity to expand its team with the addition of a Service Consultant. The Service Consultant is responsible for promoting vehicle repair service sales and being the liaison between the guest and dealership on all vehicle repair activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sell the proper repairs and/or services responsive to the customer's perceived needs.
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and paper; explaining provisions and exclusions.
  • Schedule service appointments. Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible or from service greeter upon customer check in.
  • Refer to service technician any problems or concerns for the technician to test drive if required.
  • Prepare repair orders (ROs) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
  • Refer to service history and recommend additional needed service.
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Assign repair orders to the service technician team, assuring the best service and efficiency for the customer.
  • Check on progress of repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail and get proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization are noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
  • Explain completed work and all charges to customers.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
  • Schedule work orders with the team for the most production and quality customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience as an Automotive Service Consultant.
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile.
  • Demonstrated strong customer relations skills. Proficient at identifying and relating to a customer inquiry.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with attention to detail.
  • Must be computer literate. Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus.
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and team members.
  • Friendly with high energy and the willingness to go above and beyond.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • All applicants must be at least 19 years old and able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report and valid driver's license.
