YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

In this role, you provide clinical services to a diverse outpatient population dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring health issues. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and providing therapy sessions. You are always sure to document your work accurately to meet regulatory standards. Meeting productivity goals set by VBHCS is important for the success of your service delivery.

Beyond therapy sessions, you're involved in discharge planning, engaging with families, and coordinating with external stakeholders such as courts, schools, and state agencies. Your role is crucial in developing comprehensive care strategies that support clients' recovery journeys!

Here's what you need to become our Outpatient Therapist:

  • A master's degree in the behavioral sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology)

Preferred:

  • Experience working in the community setting with adults who have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid mental health problems
  • Counseling experience with adults and an understanding of psychotropic medications or related experience
