Williamsport Retirement Village is hiring a Medication Technician

Full Time Nights

Up to $18.50/hr

Responsibilities of a Medication Technician:

  • Receive report from previous shift and read Communication book.
  • Check MAR in your building for any new orders.
  • Assist residents to get up and ready for the day including personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Check on residents at least every 2 hours - enter resident's room to perform check.
  • Administer medication according the MAR.
  • Assist residents with toileting as needed.
  • Document in residents charts as indicated.
  • Document in TAR and POC for each resident as needed.
  • Assist with food service preparation and serving meals as needed - Clean up and wipe off tables between meals - Set up for lunch only.
  • Pass waters, collect trash, provide towels, make beds, and assist with laundry.
  • Provide light housecleaning as needed.
  • Monthly weights and vital signs.
  • Complete showers and bed changes according to schedule in book.
  • Answer call lights - when assisting another resident please communication to the nurse on duty if you may be more than 5 minutes.
  • Write significant events and information in the communication book.
  • Inform the nurse of any PRN Medication that is given and also when HOLDING Medications.
  • Order Depends and Supplies on Sunday's.

Requirements of a Medication Technician:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to the three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience,
  • Current Maryland state Medication Technician registration required.
