Triad Engineering Inc. has an immediate need for Staff CADD Technician in our Hagerstown, MD office.

Under regular supervision, this entry level position will operate Computer-Aided Design computer systems. Duties performed will include, but are not limited to, creating, updating and modifying maps, and performing manual drafting in support of a variety of routine projects.

DUTIES

  • Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
  • Provide CADD drafting and design support for engineer, or other staff, for typical civil engineering projects
  • Perform work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions and notes
  • Work under the direction of the Practice Leader, engineer or Senior CADD Technician
  • May provide quantity estimates or other measurements from CADD files to engineer, or other staff, for cost estimate purposes
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information
  • Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, fits and stack-ups
  • Work from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings / specifications
  • Use the accepted drawing standards as guidelines
  • Strive to make each project profitable

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school courses in computer-aided drafting desirable

Experience

  • No experience is required; 1 year of experience preferred

Additional Requirements

Must possess:

  • A valid driver's license or reliable transportation to and from the workplace
  • The ability to read, write and perform basic math
  • The ability to comfortably communicate with the public
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and to climb, balance, crouch, stoop, crawl and kneel.
