Description:HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire an experienced Power Design Engineer to take ownership of rack-level power product design and monitor improvement initiatives.In this role, you will work collaboratively with infrastructure design, deployment, and operations teams across the company.The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. We're looking for someone with 7+ years of power related product design and life cycle management experience. You are a self-starter with the ability to work towards objectives with limited supervision.As a Power Design Engineer, you'll:* Develop rack level power configuration standards for each network platform and rack type.

Drive consistency in power configurations and mitigate risk for the network. Implement a new in-rack power design workflow with a cross-functional review process (including building engineering design packages (EDP) to be used by ENS and field deployment teams). Implement a new standard operating procedure for power install and field QA/QC.  Ensure safety for all parties involved while improving the quality of the installation.

Implement power monitoring from smart PDUs and upstream power infrastructure.  Improve visibility and capabilities for proactive detection of network power issues. Clarify and document ownership on design, implementation, and operations for network power. Support the sourcing teams with in-rack power material forecasts and supplier diversity initiatives.

Lead network equipment rack-level power product development initiatives for ENS (including new vendor product development and selection, testing, and operationalization). Implement power monitoring improvements from smart in-rack PDUs and upstream power infrastructure to improve visibility and proactive detection of network power issues.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 7+ years of power related product design and life cycle management Experience in a mission critical facility implementing these products (e.g. data centers) Ability to be a self-starter and drive towards objectives with little oversight Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to drive meetings and collaborate with partners Strong understanding of power distribution and monitoring systems, including smart in-rack PDUs and upstream power infrastructure Experience with network equipment rack-level power product development initiatives (including new vendor product development and selection, testing, and operationalization) Knowledge of standard operating procedures for power install and field QA/QC within a data center environment Experience with power product sourcing and supplier diversity initiatives Knowledge of workflow implementation and automation through scripting and tooling Ability to develop and implement power configuration standards for each network platform and rack type Experience with ownership clarification and documentation of design, implementation, and operations for network power Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and utilizing troubleshooting experience, systems and tools, and problem solving Experience delivering outcomes with limited supervision Project management experience Experience working in a global team environment Up to 15% travel requiredNice to Have Skills: Understands operations, monitoring software, pipeline programming and scripting skillsBenefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits Employer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefits Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs HireArt covers all costs for short and long term disability and life insurance * 401k packageCommitment:This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt.
