LOCATION: City Hall, 419 Fulton Street, Room 307, Peoria, Illinois
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday
The Code Enforcement Aide position is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure working for local government and provides an opportunity to improve the quality of our neighborhoods. The entry level position is ideal for a candidate looking to get exposure to local government and, more specifically, the functions of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate would have strong customer service skills, experience working with a diverse workforce, the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and represent the City of Peoria to the general public in a professional manner. The position performs inspections, investigations and resolves violations of the City environmental codes, thereby providing safe and sanitary neighborhoods for the residents of the City. The position is responsible for case management of environmental violations to include: issuing work orders to remediate the violations, issuing citations, representing the City in the Administrative Hearing Officer process and other work as assigned. The Code Enforcement Division is looking for candidates who are willing to work hard and provide excellent customer service.
