ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. If assigned to incoming inspection: Performs raw material evaluation on all incoming shipments and obtains representative lot samples. Completes necessary documentation and Oracle entries. Samples incoming raw material and incoming packaged products upon receipt in warehouse. Reviews COC/COA of incoming material and/or incoming packaging component, as needed. If assigned to processing or packaging inspection: Reviews documentation for completeness and compliance with GMPs and SOPs. Performs random in-process testing to verify operator’s results. Releases materials for use and reviews documentation for completeness. Communicates problems/out-of-specification issues to supervisor/lead and operations personnel. Assists supervisor/lead in conducting investigations. Performs AQL inspections on bulk or packaged product, as needed. Places product on hold status to investigate quality issues. Complies with safety and GMP requirements. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when an employee sees a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent and zero to two years related inspection experience. Familiarity with general inspection procedures and basic computer skills are required. Experience in quality department preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as product specifications, departmental instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine e-mails to communicate within QC and with operations personnel. Must have good writing and good communication skills. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and averages. REASONING ABILITY Ability to compare results to specifications to determine if result meets requirements. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work in quick-paced environment and change tasks frequently. Ability to learn quickly, operate independently, and to assume responsibility for new tasks is necessary. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must regularly lift, move (in some cases drag items), slide, raise and/or place: Lift 20 lbs. from waist to 65 inches and return to waist level. Lift 35 lbs. from 5 inches to 47 inches and return to 5 inches. Lift 50 lbs. from waist with 90 degree turn. Raise 55 lb. pallet from floor onto one side, move it up to 10 ft. and return to original position. Push and pull with force of 42 lbs. at 36 inch height.
