Compensation / Benefits

  • $16.72-$27.30/hr based on previous work experience.
  • Evening shift differential$1.10/hr.
  • Night shift differential $1.25/hr.
  • Weekend differential $1.25/hr.

Our Sterile Processing Department is a fast paced, team oriented, quality driven team consisting of 22 members, with experience ranging from 6 months to 37 years. The types of procedures performed in our health system include cardiology, orthopedics, dental, endocrine, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, robotics, gynecology, labor and delivery, neurology urology, and bariatrics. Responsibilities:
  • The SPD Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspection, and preparing the surgical instruments/equipment for sterilization.
  • The SPD Technician maintains consistency and continuous workflow between the OR, Central Processing and the facility as a whole while practicing above average customer service.
  • Performs duties as a SPD Technician independently, works proficiently without supervision and is qualified to train new employees.
  • Works in conjunction with the Pharmacy to re-supply crash carts with IV fluids and medications.
  • Serves as a resource to all CSSPD customers.
  • Also responsible for cleaning, issuing patient care equipment and supplies.
Qualifications:

Education

  • High school education or the equivalent.

Experience

  • Must be Certified through the HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD with the CRCST or CSPDT credential respectively.
  • 1 year minimum sterile processing experience required.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Schedule

  • 1430-2300, Mon-Fri w/ Rotating weekends and holidays

Certification

  • Must be certified in Sterile Processing.
