Summary:

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and fostering hotel business through direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, and tours of the hotel. This is an advanced level position designed to lead a sales effort in the solicitation of new business and the maintenance of existing transient, group, and meeting room businesses. This role is also responsible for all sales/marketing and advertising tasks, public relations, and administrative reporting.


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Proactively prospect potential new account corporate and group opportunities. Grow new and current account relationships through sales calls, telephone and email, networking, conducting internet research, attending client events, and participating in concentrated sales efforts in all market segments.

• This is an advanced level position designed to lead a sales effort in the solicitation of new business and the maintenance of existing transient, group, and meeting room businesses.

•Understand or willing to learn the Hyatt Brand, overall market and economic trends and how to sell against the competitive set.

•Always provides the highest quality of service to the customer, setting an example for all hotel staff members.

•Develop sales and marketing plans and annual budget by gathering historical and competitive data and determines the appropriate action plans quarterly to meet those goals.

•Works closely with the corporate revenue manager and property leadership to ensure the selling strategies are understood and revenue is maximized. Monitors room inventory and rate programs; must be knowledgeable of STR Report.

•Collaborates and communicates with General Manager, Regional Director of Sales, property department heads and Sales Coordinator. Attends, participates in, and leads weekly sales meetings.

•Complete weekly and monthly sales and financial reporting.

•Complies with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Experience in hotel sales roles
  • Experience in hotel industry required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
