Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Project Manager/Client Account Manager in Meridian, MS!  This role effectively manages all phases of project delivery including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing.

Position Summary/Objective:
Demonstrates skill in: coordinate the development of scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules with different discipline managers; monitoring of project budgets, financial metrics, schedule, quality and client feedback; quality management plans; developing project staffing plans that includes the right resources including quality assurance and peer review team members; effective communication with team members, client and stakeholders; risk analysis and mitigation; and procurement of sub consultants, subcontractors, and other direct project costs. Manages project portfolio for complex projects and high value clients. Project sizes are up to $5,000,000 in gross revenue. 

Responsible to ensure Waggoner meets client expectations through frequent communication with client and Waggoner delivery team. Meets or exceeds revenue and project multiplier and profitability targets. Creates annual Client Marketing Plan and updates quarterly for existing clients. Develops and maintains client relationships to identify new opportunities in additional service lines to grow revenue with existing clients. Maintains records of relevant client information. Understands our clients’ business and develops innovative solutions and sound recommendations, with the assistance of subject matter experts, to meet their needs. Coordinates project delivery and proposal teams with clear and succinct communication as to the client requirements and differentiation strategy. Manages a set of client accounts that cumulatively generate less than $5,000,000 in total revenue. Manages assigned staff. Works independently or in conjunction with the discipline management staff. Uses knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and to solve complex problems. 

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  1. Follows Waggoner’s policies and procedures for project proposing and delivery. Follows and adheres to all federal and state regulations, client requirements and contracts, and company policies and procedures. 
  2. Effectively uses Waggoner’s workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project, bill clients, collect receivables, and close out. 
  3. Works effectively with project support staff to monitor and control project to achieve financial target metrics for all projects. 
  4. Mentors and coaches project team members and provide constructive feedback on team member performance. 
  5. Executes project to meet client expectations while meeting industry standard of care. 
  6. Works with client organization staff to identify, develop, and propose on future work assignments. 
  7. Identifies and develops project opportunities for new work and/or expanded services for established clients.
  8. Identifies opportunities and takes action to build relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals; shares information and solicits feedback. 
  9. Handles client questions and complaints, communicates with clients, handles service problems politely and efficiently, always available for clients, follows procedure to solve client problems, understands company products and services, maintains pleasant and professional image. 
  10. Recognizes problems and responds, systematically gathers information, sorts through complex issues, seeks input from others, addresses root cause of issues, makes timely decisions, can make difficult decisions, uses consensus when possible, and communicates decisions to others. 
  11. Knows the organization’s mission and functions, and how its social, political and technological systems work and operate effectively within them; this includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization. 
  12. Develops proposal strategies that utilize Company’s strengths and innovative thinking to gain a competitive advantage with existing clients.

Supervisory Responsibility:
 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, although all team members working on a specific project will report to the PM for this project. The PM is expected to provide feedback to the Discipline Manager on performance of each of the team members.

Anticipated Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.

Required Education and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Architecture, or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Business degree preferred.

Experience:

Ten to fifteen years of related experience, five years project related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required. Five years coordination/ supervisory experience preferred. Ten years of direct client interaction in designated market and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required, five years of supervisory/management experience required.

*PE License in MS is highly desired 

 Certifications/Registrations:

Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Must complete Waggoner’s project manager qualification card and certification within a year of employment. For new hires being brought into a PM position, the PM will be given Provisional status with up to one year to complete certification. Once certification is completed, status will be changed from Provisional to Qualified. Professional registration/certification desired.

Other Knowledge and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required. Knowledge of design, on-line reports and databases preferred. Knowledge and ability to use Deltek Financial and Project Management system is required. Superior communication skills and in-depth knowledge of company products and operations.
