Infection Preventionist - LVN-LPN

White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community in beautiful La Jolla, CA is seeking an Infection Preventionist - Licensed Vocational Nurse (IP-LVN).

The IP-LVN is responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP) which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment, and to help prevent development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. Under limited supervision, the IP-LVN reports to the Health Services Administrator and partners with the Medical Director for Antimicrobial Stewardship and other stakeholders to develop a system of care that promotes sound and scientific infection prevention principles and practices

The primary duty of the IP-LVN is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern such programs.  To coordinate and collaborate with the Administrator, Director of Nursing and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to ensure that an effective prevention and control program is maintained at all times.  

** Full-time  ** Sunday-Thursday  ** 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM  ** $36.00-$45.00/hour

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current/prior Infection Prevention LVN experience and certification highly desirable   
• Current LVN/LPN license (or obtaining within 90 days) in the state for which applying
• Current CPR certification
• Prior nursing experience in senior care, skilled nursing, post-acute or sub-acute care environments preferred.
• Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members.
