Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing strategic purchasing plans and policies to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings.
- Leading and managing a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitoring and analyzing market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Overseeing the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies, including ethical sourcing and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, plan procurement activities, and manage supplier relationships effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior-level purchasing or procurement role, with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier management strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
