Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing strategic purchasing plans and policies to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings.
  • Leading and managing a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Overseeing the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Developing and implementing inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies, including ethical sourcing and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, plan procurement activities, and manage supplier relationships effectively.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior-level purchasing or procurement role, with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier management strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
