Position Summary

Install Assistants are responsible for performing scheduled installation and service of products at specified jobsite. This position follows standard work methods in accordance with company policies and practices safe work habits to ensure installations are as efficient and safe as possible under the direction of the assigned Lead Installer.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Works with installation team to appropriately and safely remove and/or install product at the highest standard
  • Completes every installation according to company expectations and leaves each job site in a clean and orderly manner
  • Evaluates each scheduled job daily and works with the Lead Installer to ensure all required materials (countertop, backsplash, etc.), tools and supplies are available on assigned vehicle(s)
  • Responsible for completion of install documents
  • When install team has scheduled deliveries, responsible to obtain customer signature and delivery receipts
  • Confirms install details by accurately completing and submitting Install recaps for review
  • Responsible to provide job completion notification to Dealers via phone or email
  • Assists Install Lead with driving responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of assigned vehicle and job site
  • Other duties as assigned by Install Manager

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 1-3 years trades related experience, required
  • Proficient with mechanical and measurement skills
  • Preferred experience includes Finish Carpentry, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Countertops

Language, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written detailed installation and service requests
  • Able to accurately direct questions to the appropriate person
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skill with ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision

Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Troubleshooting skills

Computer Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Basic computer, tablet, and smartphone/iPhone skills
  • Working knowledge of required software
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure

Driving Requirements

  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR)

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit and stand throughout the day
  • Lift and/or carry (up to 200#, with assistance) periodically, possibly above shoulder level
  • Kneel, bend, balance, squat, twist, push, pull, and/or crawl
  • Climb to varying heights
  • Walk up/downstairs throughout the workday
  • Use of fine dexterity, talk, listen, read documents, use of computers, phone, tablets
  • Observe work environment


Work Environment

  • Requires ability to adapt to constant change with the customer, environment, and surroundings
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures and conditions
  • Exposure to different levels of danger with the use of power tools
  • Expected to maintain a high level of safety awareness in all situations

Schedule and Travel Requirements

  • Daily travel required with occasional overnight travel required at the company’s discretion
  • 1st Shift – varying start/stop times, overtime frequent

As this is a safety-sensitive position, a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen will be required.
