DescriptionPosition Summary

Provides and plans safe efficient age specific nursing care for patients/families related to lactation services.

QualificationsQualifications

Education
  • Other Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing Required or
  • (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
  • (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
Work Experience
  • 1+ years Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. Required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of needs of antepartal and postpartal mother. Required
  • Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. Required
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing education and professional development. Required
  • Uses selected technical (lactation) and office equipment (e.g., fax, computer, telephone) to meet patient and family needs. Required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required
Additional Licenses and Certifications
  • Completion of lactation educator training program with current certification Required and
  • Must sit for IBCLC exam Required and
  • Successfully pass the IBCLC exam Required
