Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is an executive leader responsible for leading the Finance team, financial functions of the company, and providing strategic leadership to Van Meter's growth goals and objectives. In addition, as a 100% employee-owned company, the CFO will have leadership responsibilities supporting our ESOP operations.

The CFO is responsible for directing the financial functions of the business in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory organizations in accordance with appropriate financial management techniques and practices. The CFO represents the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, etc. Accountable for the financial, treasury and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Planning

• Leadership role in strategic planning for the company's future direction
• Drive the strategy and execution of all financial and accounting initiatives
• Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction and monitor financial performance while making recommendations and suggestions to effectively grow our company.

Operations

• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive leadership team and collaborate across team to support company growth objectives.
• Support financial planning and analysis with key data and information in advisory role with key functions, leaders and departments across the organization.
• Manage any third parties to which financial and accounting related functions have been outsourced
• Oversee the administration of the ESOP
• Serve as a business leader and partner to the CEO and COO by sourcing and developing future growth opportunities for Van Meter through investment, acquisition, and business opportunities.

Financial Information

• Oversee the issuance of financial information and ensure the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close and preparation of financial statements
• Review and approve all government filings
• Monitor financial analysis and key performance indicators and report financial results to the
• Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to all levels of leadership and all employee -owners as needed

Risk Management

• Partner with the CEO and COO regarding the company's risk profile
• Involved in legal, insurance, compliance and regulatory activities to support the financial and profit needs of the organization.
• Maintain relations with external auditors and work with the finance team to investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding

• Monitor balances and cash forecasts and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Develop reliable cash flow projections to meet operating needs
• Monitor investment of retirement plan funds

Third Parties

• Represent the company to bankers, lending institutions and the financial community
• Maintain and manage banking relationships
• Work closely with accounting and audit firm

Job Requirements/Specifications:

• Broad business experiences and strong business acumen to the table with at least five years' experience as CFO or equivalent.
• Experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
• Previous mergers, acquisitions and divestitures experience necessary.
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required.
• A Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience is desirable.
• A CPA is desired, not required.
• ESOP experience desirable.
