DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position performs entry-level technical tasks across all aspects of PennDOT, such as design, construction, and maintenance. You will provide engineering support to various PennDOT units and acquire a foundational knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, organizational roles, and workflow.

Training will involve rotating work assignments in Engineering Districts to become acquainted with district staff and procedures, as well as to contribute to projects in line with training goals. Additionally, you will attend classroom sessions specified by the program coordinator.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
